Deviating from my previous work on Season 1 characters in revoltech form, I decided that the official Hot Rod and Ultra Magnus figures needed some reinforcements.  This was my very first attempt to sculpt or shape anything harder than mild curvature, and at such a small scale, it was challenging.  Making that helmet from nothing by Aves Apoxie-sculpt, I also employed random bits and pieces of 1/144 scale gundam model kits to approximate Springer’s various vehicle kibble parts.  I learned a lot doing these little guys, enough that the idea of working on a larger figure seemed much less daunting by comparison afterward.
