If you haven’t guessed by now, I’m mildly smitten with Mega Bloks figures customized as GIJoe characters. Their size, range of motion, details, gear, and overall fun-factor absolutely dwarfs that of LEGO and Kre-O minifigures. I’ve created my own Joes and Cobras you can find here and here. I’ve also had a go at some of the iconic vehicles, here and here, no doubt with more to come (I’ve got some in progress, but time is often scarce these days).
That being said, while Mega Bloks jeeps and tanks don’t really mesh well visually with sleek, polished Masterpiece Transformers, the figures themselves really do. They’re very much in the neighborhood of the scale to look appropriate with MP carbots. And let’s face it, what child of the 80’s Joe/TF fan didn’t secretly wish for some way for both franchises could scale and play well together? It’s been tried in the comics a few times (usually with horrible results, in my opinion), but from a toy perspective, it’s never been done (SDCC non-transforming vehicles aside). TFs never got big enough, and/or Joe never got small enough. Until now.
So below is a gallery of Call of Duty Joes and Cobras with some MP/3P Transformers, and I think the results speak for themselves. Tiny Clutch…. like a boss.
‘Til all are one, collecting is half the battle. (The other half is red and blue lasers, clearly…)
